Artist Statement
This series titled Hope is inspired by the sense of renewal and the belief that what lies ahead will turn out for the best. When I visualize hope, it’s translucent, almost like air. With hope there is a complexity in a way that is organic and creates curiosity. In this series, I painted in shades of white to imbue this feeling of lightness and optimism. “Hope—looking forward.” — Melissa Mahoney
